Haircut fundraiser raises $1000 for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk takes place later this month, but people are already fundraising.

A fundraiser was held on Sunday at The Barber in San Luis Obispo For $50, guests could get a haircut and two lunches from Ben Franklin's Sandwich Shop. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. Organizers say they raised about $1000.

The Making Strides event takes place on October 26th at Downtown Mission Plaza in San Luis Obispo. It starts at 8 a.m.

"The goal for this year, we're hoping for $100,000. We made $72,000 for the event last year, and we need a lot more teams to make that goal, so we're hoping that people come out and join us," said Terra Ramirez, the Event Chair.
