Allan Hancock College golfer Austin Kaiser signed a national letter of intent to San Diego State on Thursday.
The Aztecs captured their second-straight Mountain West Conference title this season. They were ranked in the top ten nationally for most of the year at the Division I level and advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Championship.
"I'm very happy. It's always been a big goal to transfer to a Division I school especially one as good as San Diego State. It's definitely an achieved goal so I can't be happier right now," said Kaiser moments after signing his NLI.
The Atascadero High graduate is coming off a fourth place finish at the Community College State Tournament. Kaiser earned Western State Conference MVP honors his sophomore year after averaging a league-best 72.6 per round.
He thanks his coach Mike Denne for helping elevate his game the last two years at Hancock to help him earn a scholarship with the Aztecs. Kaiser is the third Bulldog golfer to move on to SDSU in the last two decades.
Kaiser holds the Atascadero High record for lowest round of 67. He was the PAC 7 League MVP and All-CIF selection his senior season.
