For the third time in the last five weeks, Allan Hancock College running back Cameron Artis-Payne has been named the Northern Conference Player of the Week.

The latest honor came after the sophomore rushed for 202 yards on 26 carries and scored 3 touchdowns in Hancock's 50-44 win over LA Harbor College. The 5-10, 215 pound running back sealed the win for the 4-1 Bulldogs with an 84 yard touchdown run. He was named the Male Athlete of the Week by the Northern Santa Barbara County Athletic Roundtable on Monday.

Artis-Payne, who was an All-State selection last season, leads the state with 991 rushing yards, 198.2 rushing yards per game and 14 rushing touchdowns.

Two weeks ago, Artis-Payne earned the honor after he turned 28 carries into 239 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns in Hancock's 49-40 win over Moorpark . Earlier in the season, he won POW after rushing for 232 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 33-20 win over El Camino College.

All three POW awards have come after home games. Hancock plays at Cerritos College Saturday night at 7pm. Hancock was ranked #6 in the Southern California Regional last week, while Cerritos was tabbed #12.
