Hancock star Artis-Payne named State Player of the Year, All-American

Allan Hancock College running back Cameron Artis-Payne has been named a First Team All-American and the State's Offensive Player of the Year by the California Community College Football Coaches Association.

The 5-10, 215 pounder led the state with 2,048 rushing yards on 261 carries and 25 rushing touchdowns. He averaged 7.8 yards per carry.

Artis-Payne was also named to the Region IV All-California First Team Offense. He earned Co-Offensive Player of the Year with Santa Ana's Josh Webb.

Santa Barbara City College offensive lineman Wade Norberg and linebacker Morgan Nevin earned spots on the Region V All-California First Teams.

Artis-Payne is set to begin classes this month at Auburn.
