A dog-loving family from Virginia has been reunited with their lost pet that somehow ended up in Florida.
The German Shepherd ran away from its home in Stewart, Virginia months ago.
The owners searched everywhere and they were about to lose hope.
But a thousand miles south, police officers in Deland, Florida found the dog running in traffic.
After scanning the shepherd's microchip identification, police called the owners who happily drove the ten hours to Deland.
Nobody would have guessed the dog was from Virginia.
The west Volusia Humane Society in Florida donated toys and treats for the family's return trip home.
