Hasay named All-Pac 10, newcomer of the year

The setting may have changed from the Central Coast to Oregon, but Jordan Hasay continues to chase down prestigious honors.

Wednesday, the Mission Prep graduate was named the Pac 10 Conference's women's cross country Newcomer of the Year.

Coaches also voted the University of Oregon freshman to the All-Pac 10 First team.

Hasay, the most sought after female distance recruit in the nation last year, quickly became the Ducks' most consistent runner this season. She finished third at the Pac-10 championships, second at the NCAA West Regional and was the first Oregon woman to finish at the NCAA Championships. Her 18th place finish in Indiana scored her AlI-American status.

Hasay became the second woman in program history to be named Newcomer of the Year. She will now begin to train for the track season.
