Mission Prep graduate Jordan Hasay will have a lot of momentum on her side going into the NCAA Championships. After winning the 1,500 meter run at the Pac-12 Championships, Hasay won the event at the West Region meet on Saturday at the University of Texas. Hasay ran a time of 4:16.29 to edge out Natalja Piliusina from Oklahoma State by .32 seconds. Hasay and Piliusina were in different heats as it was technically the quarterfinals of the event nationally. The top five times in each heat, plus the next two best times advanced to the semifinals at the NCAA Championships in Iowa.
Hasay will be going for her first Outdoor NCAA title at the national meet starting June 6. Last year at the Championships she finished eighth in the 1,500 final and fourth in the 5,000 meter final. She has won NCAA Indoor titles in the mile and 3,000 meter events.
