Hazardous beach conditions

Northwest gales across the outer coastal waters and offshore waters will create high surf conditions and a high risk of rip currents and minor beach erosion on west to northwest facing beaches. Seas can be expected to reach up to 12 feet through Saturday morning from Point Conception to Point Piedras Blancas. This will bring large surf and rough waves in the surf zone as well as strong rip currents. Stay near a lifeguard and never swim alone. If caught in a rip current, swim parallel to shore.
