MALIBU, Calif. (AP) - Parents have been warned about the dangers of an illegal Malibu High School student initiation planned for eighth graders.
KABC-TV says school administrators wrote in a letter to parents that they believe some kind of hazing ritual is planned for this weekend or next.
The letter says the initiation usually involves 11th graders subjecting eighth graders to various humiliating acts. Details about the ritual haven't been disclosed.
The school principal and two assistant principals noted in the letter that such activity is illegal and not condoned by the school.
