Dignity Health of the Central Coast is offering families and individuals in our community a free series on healthy eating and active lifestyles, starting tonight in Grover Beach.

The series is hands-on and includes topics such as portion size and reading food labels with demonstrations and tastings. They will even discuss the importance of eating different colored vegetables for disease prevention.

This free series is specifically designed for families but is open to anyone wishing to lead a healthier life.

An important part of the mission of both Arroyo Grande Community Hospital and French Hospital Medical Center is to improve the lives of people in the community. Currently their emphasis is on education to combat obesity, diabetes and to promote chronic disease self management.

The series occurs at the Exploration Station, 867 Ramona Avenue in Grover Beach. The lectures are on May 8, 15, 22, and 29, 2012. Each runs from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Reservations are required, please call (805) 473-7662.
