SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (AP) - A preliminary hearing is under way for the Northern California teenager accused of stealing celebrity chef Guy Fieri's Lamborghini and shooting at a girl and her boyfriend.

The boyfriend, 19-year-old Landon Wahlstrom, testified on Tuesday that he stared at the barrel of his attacker's gun and ducked just in time to avoid the bullets in the April 13 drive-by attack in Marin County.

Police say the gunman was 18-year-old Max Wade, and he opened fire because Wahlstrom's girlfriend had rejected him.

Wade is also accused of stealing Fieri's $200,000 yellow Lamborghini from a San Francisco showroom in 2011 and driving it around to impress Wahlstrom's girlfriend.

He has pleaded not guilty.

A judge will decide at the end of the hearing whether there is enough evidence to try Wade on the charges. The hearing is set to resume on Thursday.
