High surf advisory remains in effect from 10 PM this evening to 10 PM PST Wednesday

Surf height 10 to 16 feet with local max sets to 18 feet possible for west and northwest facing beaches of San Luis Obispo and western Santa Barbara counties.

High surf will begin impacting area beaches tonight peak on Wednesday then subside Wednesday night.

A low tide around 2.5 feet will occur between 1140 PM and 1155 PM tonight followed by a high tide near 5 feet between 545 am and 600 am on Wednesday.

Dangerous rip currents will affect beaches in the advisory area posing a threat to swimmers. In addition sneaker waves can suddenly inundate beaches and wash over jetties.
