"Life is short. Have an affair." It's the direct and shocking slogan for a website called Ashley Madison.com. It's attracting more people than you may think, and some of the cheaters could be right in your own back yard.
There are a ton of people already on this site. It's an underground world, some would call a hidden gem, but no surprise, it has started enormous controversy. The website comes with an affair guarantee and even offers an iPhone application to let users connect on the go.
Despite its less than wholesome image, the infamous website has attracted millions of users, including more than 19,000 on the Central Coast. Many of those users say they are looking for intimacy missing from their own relationship or marriages. Due the sensitive topic, local users asked to remain anonymous.
Ashley Madison's CEO says tomorrow will be one of the busiest days of the year for the website. He says couples often set high expectations for an evening of romance and find themselves easily disappointed.
