It's been more than a week since part of Highway One closed due to a rock slide. And Cal Trans says it will remain that way for at least another day.
They say, they'll reassess the situation tomorrow and cleaning up the highway is a day to day job. Crews will continue to repair the rock-net, which was damaged during the slide. Many businesses in the area say the closure has been tough this past week. But the owner of "Among Friends," gift shop says he's trying to stay positive through this.
"How negative the effect is hard to put a number on. On balance, i'm sure that the road closed isn't as good as it is being open, no matter what. But we always try to make the most out of what the situation is," said Scott Stern, Owner of Among Friends.
Stern says close to 80 percent of his sales comes from tourists, and most of them are repeat customers.
