One local highway will remain closed Monday night, due to downed power lines.

Cal Trans says Highway 166 in Santa Maria is closed between Bonita School Road and Simas Road. All other local highways are open.

Cal Trans and the California Highway Patrol are reminding everyone to drive safely during this week's heavy storms. Here are a few tips to remember: Slow down when driving on wet roads, do not attempt to cross downed trees or power lines, and make sure your vehicle is in good working order. Officials say that includes the condition of your brakes, windshield wiper blades, tires and lights.
