Highway 46 crash investigation leads to 6 additional arrests

Six more people have been arrested after an investigation into an accident on Highway 46 East last month that landed one man behind bars and another in critical condition.

Paso Robles police say a search warrant was served Wednesday morning in the 900 block of Larable Court as part of an ongoing investigation from the early-morning February 23 crash just west of Golden Hill Road.

The driver in that crash, Isaac Daniel Byers, 22, from Paso Robles was arrested after the accident on suspicion of felony DUI causing injury.

His passenger, Andrew Phillip Kunz, 19, remains in a coma at a local hospital, according to police.

Police say six people were arrested Wednesday as a result of the search warrant.

Five of them are facing various misdemeanor drug charges.

The sixth, Joshua Byers (pictured above), 18, from Paso Robles is facing a felony charge of maintaining a residence for a controlled substance, along with a misdemeanor charge of being under the influence of a controlled substance.

He remained in San Luis Obispo County Jail Thursday morning with bail set at $20,000.

Isaac Byers is also still behind bars. His bail is set at $100,000.
