Construction on Highway 46 east of Paso Robles will cause a detour for bicyclists starting Tuesday night.
Crews will be doing excavation work near the new Estrella River Bridge, which will require a protective barrier on the highway shoulder.
Bbicyclists going eastbound will have to detour at Jardine Road before returning to Highway 46 at Estrella Road.
The closure starts at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and is expected to last for up to four months.
Westbound cyclists will not be affected.
