Santa Barbara County Fire officials say a hiker was transported to a local hospital after falling over the side of Tunnel Trail Saturday afternoon.

It happened around 2:43 p.m. Officials say the hiker had travelled about a quarter to half a mile off the trail. The hiker reportedly jumped from the trail and sustained injuries from a fall down a rocky embankment.

Officials assisted the hiker back to the trail.

The hiker was treated on the scene for moderate injuries and transported by ambulance to a local hospital.

Santa Barbara County Fire paramedics went with the hiker in the ambulance.
