If you're a classic movie fan, it doesn't get any better than Hitchcock and tonight, there's a free screening of one of his best.. under the stars in Santa Barbara.
In "Rear Window," Jimmy Stewart plays a photographer who's wheelchair bound after breaking his leg.
While he's stuck in his apartment recuperating during a sweltering heat wave, he spies on his neighbors, visible through the rear window of his apartment... and it's not long before he's entangled in a terrible crime.
The film also stars Grace Kelly and Raymond Burr.
It screens tonight in the Sunken Garden at the Santa Barbara County Court House..
Showtime is 8:30 and admission is free.
It's part of a film series, "Alfred Hitchcock Nights: Eight Classic Films of Obsession, Mystery, and Suspense," sponsored by UCSB Arts & Lectures, the Santa Barbara County Park Foundation, and the Community Services Department of Santa Barbara County.
Next week, it's "North by Northwest."
