Law enforcement officers say at least 11 people have been arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol during the 'Avoid the 14' DUI crackdown campaign.
Officers say that number could climb, as not all the agencies involved in the campaign have reported their final number of arrests yet.
The campaign has caused a bump up in patrols during the Winter season. During the first week, patrols were increased from Dec. 18 at midnight to midnight on Dec. 24. Those agencies participating in the campaign say patrols will stay at current levels through January 3, 2010.
Officers are asking anyone who suspects a drunk driver on the road to call 911.
