You should have no problem getting your Merry on this week. Holiday celebrations and festivities are full swing on the Central Coast. There are more than I can include here, but here are some of my picks for the weekend. And check out the community calendar to the left of this page for more. (I didn't even get into the shows, concerts and performances to choose from!)
In Morro Bay, the Caroling Cops have been brining Christmas cheer and Christmas presents to kids in different neighborhoods each night. The Morro Bay Police Department and the Neighborhood Watch Association join forces and cruise in police cars or the Christmas Trolley. Look fro them from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonight in South Morro Bay.
Santa surfs his way through Shell Beach tonight. It's the annual Shell Beach Stroll, where businesses along Shell Beach Road hold open houses, have music, food and drinks for those cruising by. There are arts and crafts along the route, a Surfing Santa you can pose for pictures with, and a very loosely organized parade down Shell Beach Road. The fun starts at 5 p.m. and goes until 8 p.m. The "Un-parade" starts around 6:30 p.m. For questions, call: 805-748-2120.
Atascadero will be holding the Atascadero Winter Wonderland on Friday, December 13th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Sunken Gardens in Atascadero. This holiday event will include a giant pile of snow, perfect for snow angels, Santa Claus, enterainment and refreshments. For more information please call: 805-462 0177.
The annual Los Osos Holiday Parade is at 10 a.m. on Saturday December 14. This year's theme will be "Christmas Under Construction" and will start from Fairchild Way and finish at Palisides Avenue. Please call 805-528-4884 for more information.
Paso Robles will be celebrating the Victorian Christmas Showcase from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, December 14th. The fun can be found at Vine Street between 8th and 21st Street. There will be holiday decorated Victorian homes, live bands, dancers, carolers, refreshments and snacks. Cars and dogs are not allowed. For more information call: 805-238-4103.
