Graffiti can serve as a form of urban art bringing color to bricks and concrete; unless these pieces of construction are already a piece of art.
Three Atascadero Home Depot employees put the "work" in work of art as they volunteered to clean graffiti off of the Atascadero monument sign.
The sign that reads "Colony of Atascadero California" is located on the west side of Highway 101 and is one of the first things people see when driving into the city.
While it cannot be determined when the actual vandalizing took place, a Home Depot supervisor drove by the sign a month ago and thought that something had to be done and his place of work had the means to help out.
Supervisors Jarrod McNerlin, Cole Younger and Billie Stutsman braved the heat and volunteered to clean the graffiti off of the sign with Home Depot providing the materials to help them do so.
The spray painted graffiti was quickly cleaned off of the brick surface and the sign was restored to its original condition thanks to the employees.
While the employees volunteered their time without expecting anything in return, many Atascadero and other local residents are giving them praise through social media.
Atascadero Chamber of Commerce posted pictures of the men cleaning the sign on their Facebook page and the post has receive over 1, 500 views, over 100 "likes" and numerous comments thanking the volunteers for helping to beautify the city.
This is the biggest response to a post on the Atascadero Chamber of Commerce Facebook page proving that no good deed goes unnoticed.
