Home owner chases burglars with pickax

SHERWOOD, Ore. (AP) - The Clackamas County sheriff's office says a Sherwood man returned home Wednesday afternoon to find two men burglarizing his home.

He confronted the two and they fled. The sheriff's office says he was armed with a pickax and slashed a rear tire as they drove off.

Deputies didn't find the car right away but they received a call three hours later from the same area about two men asking for a ride.

The suspects got away, but deputies found the car with the flat tire. It had been stolen from Clark County, Wash.
