A program to provide safe overnight parking for homeless living out of their cars launched Saturday night in San Luis Obispo.

The pilot program, from the Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County, offers five parking spaces at the Prado Day Center.

Four out of the five parking spaces were occupied Saturday night.

CAPSLO says the fifth space will be filled on Monday.
