Officials with the Santa Maria Police Department say Joseph Munoz, the man wanted in connection with Friday night's homicide in Oceano, led police on a pursuit before giving in to arrest.
According to reports, police noticed a vehicle they believed Munoz was in. After investigating, they were able to determine that he was a passenger in the car.
The vehicle fled from police. Officers were led on a pursuit through the north side of Santa Maria, Highway 101, and finally the City of Guadalupe.
The vehicle eventually pulled over in a neighborhood, and everyone in the car submitted to arrest without incident.
Officials say the pursuit lasted 23 minutes and travelled 28 miles.
The pursuit started just after 9:30 Sunday morning.
Munoz was arrested for a violation of his parole as well as his alleged connection to the homicide in Oceano.
24-year-old Cassandra Deleon from Santa Maria was driving during the pursuit. She was also taken into custody, and officials plan to charge her for felony evading.
42-year-old Stacy Arajo of Santa Maria was a passenger during the pursuit. She was also taken into custody, but officials haven't released the charges.
