Hubbard Suspended for Opening Half Against Yale

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The Cal Poly football team will start their non-conference finale on Saturday without star defensive back Alex Hubbard.

Hubbard has been suspended by the Big Sky conference for the first half of the mustangs upcoming game against Yale.

The suspension stems from a hit the conference says violated the NCAA's new 'targeting' rule, which prohibits defenders from hitting players with the crown of their helmet.

Hubbard was flagged and ejected in the fourth quarter of last Thursday's win over Portland State.
