Hundreds of people enjoy Pancakes for Patriots in Atascadero

Hundreds of people in Atascadero came together Saturday to thank those who have served our country.

It was all part of Saturday afternoon's Patriot Pancake Breakfast hosted by the Atascadero Veteran's Memorial Foundation.

Organizers say it is a great way to bring veterans and their families together to celebrate the sacrifices they have made for freedom. Organizers also hope others will follow in their footsteps.

"Thank the guy or the gal next to you, the quiet patriot who may have very well served this country and hasn't asked for anything," said Organizer Ann Hatch. "There's many a person whose come home, particularly those in from Vietnam, that have yet to hear 'Thank You,' take the time."

About 600 people took part in the event.
