Hundreds of people took to the icy cold waters off Cayucos for their first ocean dip of the new decade Friday.

The chilly ocean temperature didn't stop participants from jumping in for the 28th Annual Carlin Soule Memorial Polar Bear Dip.

No wetsuits were allowed, so some put on costumes instead. Among the participants was KSBY's new anchor, Jeanette Trompeter.

Everyone ran into the ocean in a mass group at noon and got a certificate for participating.
