Hwy 46 reopened after major morning accident

Highway 46 is open once again after a major injury accident shut down the roadway early Thursday morning.

The California Highway Patrol tells KSBY News several people were hurt when a big rig collided with a vehicle head-on, at about 5:15 a.m. Thursday. That happened near the San Luis Obispo and Kern County line, at the Cholame "Y."

Those with injuries have been taken to Twin Cities hospital. It's unknown what types of injuries the victims sustained.
