San Luis Obispo County Sheriff-elect Ian Parkinson made a stop in the KSBY studio, outlining his plans for the future.
Parkinson said his priority will be tackling the new budget plan in Febuary. The transition from his old job as San Luis Obispo Police Captain could be tricky as that department will be facing a new budget plan at the same time.
Parkinson hopes his leadership will lead to community involvement as well as community education. "In the enforcement side, it really involves getting everyone involved in the county, and recognizing it as a county wide problem," he said. "The education programs such as police athletic league and programs withing the school are vital."
