The Latino outreach council is a community organization geared to helping local Latinos better understand issues of immigration.
The council held an open forum tonight; open to anyone seeking answers.
Clamente Morales and his sister Ramona are immigrants from Mexico. They attended tonight to seek legal advice regarding the status of Ramona's immigration. Ramona has been on a waiting list for a green card for nearly fourteen years. Both brother and sister live daily with the fear of being torn apart.
Clamente got a chance tonight to speak with an attorney regarding his sister's case. Clamente heard experts in the field of immigration share their thoughts on the controversial topic.
The panel included Joseph Castro, Ruth Jensen, Kevin Gregg, Maricela Morales, and Moderator Jacqueline del Valle Frederick.
The Moraleses are excited that they got a little peace of mind tonight and hopefully one step closer to the American dream.
