Increase in cancer survivors expected

The number of cancer survivors is expected to increase in the coming years.
A new joint report from the American Cancer Society and the National Cancer Institute estimates the number of cancer survivors will reach nearly 18-million by the year 2022.
That's up from a current number of nearly 14-million.
Oncolgoists attribute the predicted increase to a growing, aging population, as well as improved survival rates.
Experts say it's going to be increasingly important to understand and fulfill the medical and emotional needs of survivors, as well as their caregivers and partners.
