The Santa Maria Valley Humane Society is trying to help a dog abandoned in a bucket on the side of Highway 1 find a new home.
Solei was found with a head injury, a swollen eye and several foxtails embedded throughout her body.
Solei was spayed and the foxtails were removed.
Workers at the Humane Society say the one-year old dog was also born with a congenital defect in her front legs.
"Because of her disability here she's not going to be able to go on long walks. She's going to be like this for the rest of her life, but she can certainly get around," said Jill Tucker, Santa Maria Valley Humane Society.
The Humane Society is asking for donations to help pay for Solei's health costs, and they're looking for someone who will provide her with a permanent home.
