The injury bug continues to bite former Cal Poly football stars in NFL preseason camps.
New York Giants' wide receiver Ramses Barden missed Monday's practice with a sore ankle. Head coach Tom Coughlin did not specify whether the fourth year wide receiver was having issues with his surgically-repaired ankle. "He had a little trouble feeling really strong off of that one foot so they held him today. I hope that's it," Coughlin said to the media on Monday.
Barden is looking to earn playing time this season. The former Cal Poly All-American has just 15 receptions for 174 yards and 0 touchdowns in his NFL career.
Baltimore Ravens rookie cornerback Asa Jackson missed back-to-back practices after injuring his hamstring in a preseason game last week. The fifth round draft pick expects to play this Friday when the Ravens take on Detroit. "I'm going to be fine," Jackson told CBS Sports. "Things happen, it's football. You recover."
Earlier this month, former Mustang Chris Gocong tore his achilles during a practice with the Cleveland Browns. The seven year veteran was expected to start at outside linebacker this season for the Browns. He is likely out for the entire season.
