Investigators from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department find stolen firearms and a stolen ATV inside a Nipomo home.
A spokesperson for the department says sheriff's patrol deputies, members of the narcotics unit, and the special operations unit served a search warrant at a residence on the 300 block of Silva Place in Nipomo around 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Inside that residence, they say they found a number of firearms including a bolt action rifle, 12-gauge shotgun, semi-automatic shotgun and a pistol. Investigators say six of the firearms had been stolen. They also found a stolen ATV.
Deputies then arrested the resident inside the home, 23-year-old Chad Higa, on several charges including a felon in possession of firearms, receiving stolen property and grand theft. Higa is being held on $20,000 bail in the San Luis Obispo County jail.
