Nipomo bank robbery follows earlier heist in San Luis Obispo

Investigators are trying to track down a suspect after a bank robbery in Nipomo.

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department says the robbery took place around 2:15 p.m. at the Wells Fargo on West Tefft. Investigators say the suspect handed the teller a note and took off with an undisclosed amount of money. The robber claimed to have a weapon, but none was seen.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 20's, about five feet eight inches tall. He was last seen wearing a tan or light brown shirt and blue jeans, along with a black baseball cap.

Investigators are not sure if the robbery is connected to a robbery earlier in the afternoon at the Wells Fargo inside the Von's supermarket in San Luis Obispo.

If you have any information about the robbery, please call the Sheriff's department.
