REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (AP) - Investigators say a lawyer smuggled drugs to an inmate in a Northern California jail.
The San Francisco Chronicle (bit.ly/PIBgY9) says 43-year-old Erika Jordening passed the drug to 43-year-old Aaron Rauls at the San Mateo County jail in Redwood City. The type of drug hasn't been disclosed.
Sheriff's Lt. Larry Schumaker says the transaction occurred Tuesday during a confidential meeting between the lawyer and her client, who was in jail on a drug charge.
Jordening has been booked for investigation conspiracy and bringing contraband into a jail facility. She remains jailed with bail set at $70,000.
Bail for Rauls, who has been booked on the same counts, is $35,000.
