The Santa Barbara County Community Services Department is trying to put a stop to a potential beach party known as "Floatopia".
Beaches in Isla Vista will be closed on Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7.
In the aftermath of the Floatopia event in 2009, the beaches were covered with trash, debris and human waste.
The unsanctioned beach party attracted thousands of people.
It prompted the County of Santa Barbara to close Isla Vista beaches for similar events in 2010, 2011 and 2012.
Santa Barbara County Sheriff's officials will patrol the beaches again this weekend.
