For the Ready family it would be a dream come true. The San Luis Obispo family has been working to get approval for a 30-acre park on the Nipomo Mesa. The "Jack Ready Park" is named after their son who died of brain cancer in 2004, at the age of 3.

It would be designed for physically and mentally challenged youngsters. The park would also welcome children not facing those challenges. Recently, the Board of Supervisors moved it a step closer.

Technically, they "authorized the processing of an application for a change in the land use category."

KSBY's Monica Quintero will have more on this story tonight on KSBY News.
