Jaws of life used in Highway 101 accident in Arroyo Grande

The CHP is looking to see if alcohol played a part in a crash in Arroyo Grande early Monday morning.

According to Five Cities Fire, a vehicle crashed into the median on Highway 101 South between Traffic Way and El Campo Road just after midnight.

When crews arrived, they found the vehicle had either flipped or rolled, and a woman trapped inside. Five Cities Fire used the jaws of life to remove the driver's door and get the woman out. She was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The woman also had two small dogs with her. They were not hurt.

Officials say the vehicle is completely destroyed, and that the woman was the only person inside.
