John Reger's Hollywood Past

You see him every night anchoring the news here on KSBY, but John Reger has a very diverse and interesting past.
We dug deep, and what we found was some amazing footage that we had to share with all of you.
So here it is, the other John Reger.

Basketball player, musician, actor, world traveler, television anchor... all titles John Reger has held in his colorful life.

At Stanford, John played on the basketball team. After graduating he got his first job in broadcasting in Salt Lake City, at a nationally syndicated show, PM Magazine.

From there he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music. He's a singer, songwriter, plays several instruments and appeared on Star Search in the early 80's. He was the defending champion for five weeks singing his original songs.

Then came his role in the cult classic Hot Dog the Movie, where he played the "Greatest Skier in the World."

After that, John went on to appear in more than 50 television shows and movies, including some favorites like Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman and Cheers. He also appeared in more than 75 national commercials, and was the face of Dodge Daytona, Irish Spring, and Old Spice.

John speaks several languages, has traveled to 90 countries and spent the last 20 years as a respected, award-winning journalist in the news industry.

And good thing for us - he landed here at KSBY.
