Jordan Hasay earns three-peat as West Region's Athlete of the Year

Mission Prep graduate has been named the West Region Cross Country Female Runner of the Year for the third-straight year. The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced on Tuesday the winners of the USTFCCCA Region Athletes and Coaches of the Year honors for the 2012 cross country season in Division as voted on by coaches.

The Oregon senior won her third-straight NCAA West Regional last weekend. She took the tape in 19:15, six seconds ahead of Cal Poly freshman Laura Hollander, who led for most of the race. The Oregon women won the regional to automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships.

Hasay also finished second at the Pac 12 Championship to lead the Ducks to the Conference title.

Louisville is hosting the NCAA Division 1 Championships on Saturday. The women's race is slated to start at 9am California time with the men at 10:15 am.

Hasay finished runner-up in 2011 and third in 2010 as a sophomore.
