Living the lifestyle of the rich and famous...we have the opportunity to do just that at a few events that happen along the Central Coast throughout the year. One of those is coming up this weekend.
This weekend is the Afternoon of Epicurean Delights at the Chapman Mansion in Shell Beach. Settings don't get a whole lot more spectacular and look for almost 60 food, wine and beer vendors, a silent auction, and musical acts at two different locations.
"They're all intermixed in different locations throughout the property. I've been going to events since I moved here in 1987 and this is by far my favorite event all year round." said Food Coordinator Carl Weber.
The seaside estate along ocean boulevard is now owned by the City of Pismo Beach, but for 27 years the late owner, Clifford Chapman and his partner Don Shidler have hosted this food and wine extravaganza to benefit CAPSLO. The tradition continues this year.
"So this year, the majority of funds will go to our Adult Wellness and Prevention screening program which is an exceptional program. It has a very small budget, and we go to 17 sites throughout the county to provide free health screening, education and referrals." said Raye Fleming of CAPSLO.
Tickets are $100.00 and because all expenses were donated this year, all profits go to the cause. Of the various programs CALSLO serves, earmarked to receive much of the funding this year is the organization's Adults Wellness and Prevention Screening Program.
