The city of Paso Robles will not have its annual 4th of July fireworks show this year. Paso Robles Mayor Duane Picanco says the city's celebration was at least $10,000 short on funds. The city relies on businesses and private donations to help pay for a portion on the event, and the contributions were significantly lower this year with the tough economy.
Lack of funding almost forced city leaders to scrap the July 4th celebration last year. However, the event went on as planned after it received a $7,000 donation from the Coast Hills Federal Credit Union.
KSBY News Reporter Monica Quintero will have a live report on KSBY News at 5 and 6.
