A motion has been filed for a new trial in the case of a local woman convicted of hitting and killing a California Highway Patrol officer in Paso Robles in 2010.
Kaylee Weisenberg's attorney filed the motion Friday, a deadline that had been extended at the time of Weisenberg's scheduled sentencing last month. That sentencing was delayed until April.
Weisenberg was convicted in the death of CHP Officer Brett Oswald last summer. She faces 15 years in prison.
The judge will hear the motion in April, on the same day Weisenberg is also scheduled to be sentenced.
