FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. - Atascadero native Tim Kennedy earned his 2nd UFC win in as many tries on Wednesday at the UFC's Fight for the Troops 3 event in Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
Kennedy, who won his UFC debut back in July, delivered a first round TKO after connecting with a powerful left hook on Rafael Natal.
It was the 17th mixed martial arts victory for the 10-year Army veteran, who had originally been slated to fight Lyoto Machida before the late swap.
"I'm 100 percent overwhelmed," Kennedy said to the troops. "Your guys' job is infinitely harder than anything I could ever do in here. I don't deserve to be here. I love you guys so much. I miss everything about (serving). You guys are my heroes. You guys are my idols. I'm a Christian, and I give the glory to God. But I worship you guys. I worship you guys. I love every one of you."
