Kerry arrives in South Korea

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - Secretary of State John Kerry is hoping talks with officials in South Korea and visits to Japan and China will help lead to a cooling down of tensions on the Korean peninsula.

Kerry arrived in Seoul today, the first of four days of talks in East Asia.

North Korea has been threatening war, and U.S. intelligence says the North has advanced its nuclear knowhow to the point that it could arm a ballistic missile with a nuclear warhead.
