It was a special day for hundreds of children and their fathers in San Luis Obispo today.
That's because their dads are currently inmates at the California Mens Colony.
For the fifth year the "Get on the Bus" program helped kids visit their fathers.
When it first started there were just 17 kids, now it takes 12 charter buses to bring kids all the way from Sacramento and San Diego.
More than 40 schools, churches, and organizations help make this event possible.
One volunteer traveled from San Bernadino to be with the kids during this memorable event.
"It can be very emotional, lots of tears, because the fathers don't really get to see their children. So it can be very emotional for them," said Nahomie Moise, Licensed Family Therapist.
After the visit, each child receives a teddy bear and a letter from their father.
