Some lucky kids in San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria headed to Kohls for KidSpree.
50 local children participated in an event that provides new clothes for underprivileged children in North County.
They received $100 to spend on clothes and school supplies. Several organizations helped set this up, in order to help these kids get ready to back to school this fall.
One of the main focuses of this event is education, and providing the kids with the tools they need to succeed.
"It makes me feel good because, I get to have new clothes, and it's really fun having new clothes," Tyler Barnes, 6-years-old.
Those seeking assistance are finding it harder than ever to provide their children with proper clothing, which can hinder attendance and successful learning.
