Kids who spend most of their time playing outside after school are more likely to get the recommended amount of daily physical activity.
A new Canadian study found kids who never played outside got 21 fewer minutes of exercise and 70 more minutes of sedentary time than kids who spent most of their time outside.
More outside play was also linked to better cardiovascular fitness.
About a third of the kids in the study got the recommended hour of moderate to vigorous physical activity each day.
